Why can’t I see certain content in my country?

Some content has been licensed with geographical restrictions. Additionally, some countries block certain third-party service providers (such as YouTube being blocked in China, Iran, Turkmenistan, Eritrea, Sudan, and North Korea). Unfortunately, these restrictions are outside of our control.

What accommodations do you make for disabled users?

We provide a wide range of accessibility features that allow users to adjust interface elements on demand according to their individual needs. Independent third-party testing has found our interface to achieve the highest level of screen reader accessibility performance. This enables us to support users with a broad range of disabilities, including blindness, motor impairments, cognitive disabilities, epilepsy, and visual impairments.

These independent assessments confirm that Adesso complies with accessibility standards and regulations including ADA, WCAG, Section 508, the Unruh Act, EAA, ACA, AODA, HB-1110, and IS 5568.

What provisions do you make for different languages?

Our interface is provided in 30 languages, through a combination of advanced artificial intelligence and human translation. Content is provided in 2 major languages, with video subtitles available in 100+ languages.

How can I watch Adesso on my television?

There are three main solutions for watching on your television. Options include: 1. casting the website wirelessly, 2. connecting your device using a cable, or 3. using a smart TV app.

Google’s Chromecast can allow you to mirror your device on your television. This solution works wirelessly with mobile devices, tablets, and computers.

To use Google Chromecast you will need to purchase a Google Chromecast Media Streamer, and then install Chromecast with Google TV.

Before investing in this solution, please check that your television has the required HDMI port, that the Google Chromecast Media Streamer functions in your country, and that all your devices are compatible.

Please note that because the Adesso Network is not a Chromecast compatible app, you should not search for an app in the Google Chromecast Media Streamer, but instead cast the website to your television using the free Chrome internet browser.

Alternatively, you may be able to create a connection from your device to your television with a cable attachment, using the HDMI port or DisplayPort.

Before investing in this solution, please check that your television has the required port.

This solution will require that you purchase a HDMI cable or DisplayPort cable, along with any adapter necessary to connect that cable to your specific device.

Additionally, some smart TVs allow you to mirror your device using an app such as Smart View or AirPlay. If this feature is available to you, typically all that is required is that your device be connected to the same wi-fi network as the TV.

The Auto Next button isn’t automatically playing the next video for me. Why isn’t this working?

The autoplay permission in your internet browser settings must be turned on for this feature to work.

Most internet browsers default to this permission being automatically turned on. However, some browsers default to this permission being turned off. For this reason, your browser may require you to manually change this setting, in order for autoplay to function properly.

Are videos available on the Adesso Network legally distributed?

We only showcase video content that we believe to be legally distributed. We do not knowingly make available on the Adesso Network any video suspected of piracy or illegal distribution. For movies and series, thorough checks are conducted to ensure that the content is being distributed by a license owner.

The Adesso Network embeds content in full compliance with the terms of service provided by third-party platforms.

How can I avoid watching videos with offensive language?

We offer a range of tools that allow our users to consider the language profile of movies and shows before watching them. In addition, we provide dedicated categories of movies and shows that contain only clean language.

Are all your movies and series family friendly?

Not all content on the Adesso Network is suitable for all audiences.

While we curate our content specifically for the Christian audience, some content features mature themes, which may be inappropriate for younger or very sensitive viewers.

What are your guidelines for content being appropriate for Christians?

In terms of ministry content, our guiding consideration is whether the ministry is generally accepted by the affinity group of the website we are curating for.

In terms of entertainment content, our goal is to provide options for Christians from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds, taste preferences, ages, and theological viewpoints. We seek to provide a thoughtful and sophisticated approach to this curation.

Our main editorial consideration is whether the underlying theme of the content is edifying. We seek to provide an entertainment experience for our audience free from overarching messages that are hedonistic, immoral, occultic, or representative of false religion. We are more concerned with whether the overall narrative of a story is in accordance with Biblical constructs, rather than on the morality of individual scenes.

I experienced an offensive advertisement while watching a video or listening to audio on the Adesso Network. Why did this happen?

The Adesso Network provides content that is freely available via third-party ad-supported distributors. We have no control the advertisements they choose to serve.

How are ministries selected for the Adesso Network?

With each of our websites, we seek to represent ministries that are widely deemed theologically acceptable to that website’s affinity group. If the majority of an affinity group would find a ministry questionable by mainstream denominational standards, then it will not be a fit.

Ministries are typically selected based on the size of their congregation and/or the size of their following. Additionally, we place emphasis on the production value of the content available from each ministry. We consider the quality of the video, audio, and graphics, and whether or not the ministry uses multiple cameras. You can see detailed production value guidelines here.

In cases where a smaller volume of content is available, our emphasis on production value may be adjusted.

We firmly believe that even the smallest ministry can have a large effect on God’s Kingdom. We affirm the value of all ministries, regardless of whether they meet our specific presentation criteria.

Does the Adesso Network monitor the featured ministries?

It is not feasible for us to monitor the vast amount of content being released by our featured ministries every single week. Rather than attempting to moderate well established ministries, we wish to respect our audience’s freedom. As such, we ask our audience to prayerfully exercise wisdom, and to first and foremost seek truth from the Bible.

We may choose at our own discretion to remove content that violates our policies.

Does the Adesso Network ever remove ministries?

We reserve the right to remove any ministry, based on the parameters cited in Titus 1: 6-9.

One such scenario would be if a ministry was subject to major scandal, in which a significant number of individuals were hurt by a leader’s conduct. The burden of proof for such a violation would be widespread publication in established media, a pastor’s removal from leadership, and/or legal or civil prosecution.

In the case of a leadership change, we may decide at our own discretion to allow the ministry to retain a presence on the Adesso Network, possibly with the removal of any content featuring the offending party.

Such decisions are always made prayerfully, with the goal of integrity towards the ethos of God’s Word.

I don’t agree with a style of ministry that featured on the Adesso Network. Why do you showcase a variety of denominations?

We recognize that many Christians have a personal preference for a style of ministry that feels familiar to them. This is typically identified through musical style, preaching style, visual presentation, and certain doctrinal focuses. Sometimes this is purely a matter of preference. But in many cases this choice is also anchored in theological beliefs.

When founding the Adesso Network, one of our most important goals was to bring unity to the worldwide Church. For us, this meant creating environments in which Christians from many backgrounds could experience a reflection of their local community.

We believe that unity does not require conformity. God has called all people, and as such, Christians encompass a diverse collection of ages, races, national cultures, and a variety of spiritual giftings. Within this richness of diversity, we see different aspects of God’s heart represented. We believe that each affinity group brings an area of strength. And we believe that we can all benefit from learning from one another.

Biblical precepts for this include Mark 16:15, Matthew 9: 37-38, Matthew 28: 18-20, and Revelation 7:9.

We fully appreciate that some hold the position that there is only one “right” way to approach ministry, and that all other denominational traditions are problematic. In response to this concern, we ask for prayerful consideration of Ephesians 4:

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all […] So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

How does the Adesso Network choose which countries to feature in its ministry location filters?

Ministries from any country can be included on the Adesso Network. However, the quantity of ministries with high quality audio-visual content is limited in certain nations. For this reason, to provide the best possible user experience, the interface only features location filters for countries with a sufficient volume of qualifying ministries.

Ministries located in countries with an insufficient volume of content are grouped together under one filter, which covers “all other” countries within that continent.

Whether a country meets the threshold criteria for having its own location filter is a purely analytical consideration. These determinations are based solely on content availability, and are not intended to reflect any value judgment by our team.

We support and believe in the value of Christian ministry in every country – large or small. Our hope is that one day all the nations of the world will see revival.

How are musicians selected for the Adesso Network?

With each of our websites, we seek to present musicians that are broadly deemed of interest to that website’s affinity group.

To provide an engaging user experience, it’s necessary for us to curate a limited number of musicians. For this reason, we focus on presenting musicians who are most likely to engage our audience, based on the quality of their audio-visual presentation and the size of their pre-existing following.

How are influencers selected for the Adesso Network?

With each of our websites, our goal is to present influencers that are broadly deemed of interest to that website’s affinity group. The influencers we feature either provide faith-based content, or subscribe to the Christian faith.

To provide an engaging user experience, it’s necessary for us to curate a limited number of influencers. For this reason, we focus on presenting influencers who are most likely to engage our audience, based on the quality of their audio-visual presentation and the size of their pre-existing following.

Due to concerns for child welfare, we do not feature family vloggers.

Does the Adesso Network monitor influencer content?

I have an issue with my VR headset. Who should I contact?

If you purchased a VR headset which was showcased on our platform, please be advised that we only recommend products. As the purchase was made through a third-party, we do not have the ability to provide assistance with this matter. We do not provide customer service for other companies. Therefore, we kindly ask that you contact the customer support team of the merchant from whom you purchased the headset.

I had a bad/questionable experience with someone I interacted with via an online service that the Adesso Network showcases. Can you intervene?

As we cannot vouch for the character of every person who uses the various interactive services showcased on the Adesso Network, we strongly advise our users to exercise wise safety practices. Please remember that we don’t manage these third-party offerings, and therefore, we don’t carry out criminal background checks on individuals using these services.

We do not take responsibility for any third-party actions, whether within a VR experience, an online small group, in the context of online personal ministry, or any other interactive service.

Please avoid providing personal information to anyone with a suspicious profile. Never share your work or home address, government identifying numbers, credit card details, or bank information with someone you have not carefully vetted and established a significant relationship with.

Please do not respond to requests for financial help from strangers. Regardless of how convincing or compelling someone’s explanation may seem, never respond to requests for money, especially when asked to send it overseas or via wire transfer.

If you plan to meet in person someone you connected with via an interactive service, please tell a friend where you are going, meet in a public place, and pay attention to any red flags.

If you’ve had an experience that made you feel unsafe, bullied, stalked, harassed, or that you were being targeted for a financial scam, we recommend contacting the event organizer, and/or third-party platform that hosted the online meeting.

In a case where your personal safety or property might be at risk, please immediately contact the police, and take adequate measures to minimize your risk.

What are your guidelines for news being appropriate for Christians?

We endeavor to partner with third-party news publishers with a proven track record in reporting specifically tailored for the Christian audience. Where this is not possible, secular new publishers may be featured. We have no editorial power over what stories are reported, or how they are reported.

What are your guidelines for culture content being appropriate for Christians?

We endeavor to partner with third-party culture content publishers with a proven track record in reporting specifically tailored for the Christian audience. Where this is not possible, secular culture publishers may be featured. We have no editorial power over what stories are reported, or how they are reported.

How are podcasts selected for the Adesso Network?

The podcasts featured on Adesso are either faith-based, or are presented by hosts who subscribe to the Christian faith.

To provide an engaging user experience, it’s necessary for us to curate a limited number of podcasts. For this reason, we focus on only presenting podcasts that are likely to be of most interest, based on quality of audio-visual presentation, and size of pre-existing audience.

We do not carry ministry sermon podcasts on our podcasts page, as such content is already showcased on our ministry channel pages.

Are the audiobooks available on the Adesso Network legal?

The embedding of audiobooks on the Adesso Network is compliant with the terms of service provided by the relevant content publishers. We do not knowingly make available any audiobook that is suspected of piracy or illegal distribution.

Many of the audiobooks we feature are adapted from books that are now within the public domain. When a book has “entered the public domain”, that means its copyright has expired, and the material now is available for exploitation by the general public. On that basis, anyone is free to adapt such content into audiobook format.

I have a question about an event I saw publicized on the Adesso Network. Whom should I contact?

The Adesso Network merely publicizes events. As such, we are unable to assist with any events related matter. For questions or concerns about an event, ticket refund, booking change, or safety issue regarding an event publicized on our websites, please contact the event organizer directly.

I have an issue with an order I placed. Whom should I contact?

If you purchased apparel showcased on one of our websites, please be advised that we merely recommend products. All purchases are made with third parties. As such, we are unable to provide apparel customer service. Please contact the merchant directly.

I gave financially to a ministry featured on the Adesso Network. I have questions about my gift. Whom should I contact?

For all questions regarding donations to a ministry, please contact the ministry directly.

We merely showcase ministries. All financial donations are managed by third parties on websites owned and controlled by third parties. As such, we are unable to offer assistance regarding financial donations.

We do not vet the financial management of the ministries featured on the Adesso Network. Accordingly, we are unable to vouch for the financial responsibility of any of these parties. We make no representations as to the integrity of any ministry, its financial management, or record of financial accountability. Therefore, we urge our users to conduct their own due diligence before making donations.

We encourage you to obtain a copy of the ministry’s annual financial report, if available. If you reside in a country where the publication of such information is mandated or standard practice, yet the ministry isn’t making such information easily available, you may wish to reconsider donating.

Furthermore, depending on which country a ministry resides in, third-party reporting of their record of financial transparency may be available. For example, within the USA, one such organization is the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.

Additionally, an internet search for information on the ministry’s history of financial stewardship may prove informative.

Before donating, please review all financial reporting available to verify that the use of your donated funds is fully in alignment with your personal values.

Depending on the laws and practices of your nation, if you donate funds, you might be entitled to a year-end contribution statement. In some countries this statement enables charitable giving to be deducted from your taxes.

Any contribution statement would be supplied directly by the ministry at the end of the tax year.
